“We are very excited to be able to offer this opportunity through VA. We have worked with VA before and are extremely impressed by the calibre of VA graduates now working for us. Importantly, the VA team understands our requirement to ensure we employ pilots who have a genuine desire to join Titan Airways. They have listened to us and tailored a programme specifically to meet our needs. Titan Airways is a great place to work. We are family owned and offer a very different opportunity to the more ‘well known’ airlines. Achieving a lifestyle balance is important to us. Successful applicants will enjoy a varied roster and have the opportunity to get involved and make a difference.”

Capt. Matthew Wilson, Pilot Manager, Titan Airways

“This is a truly pioneering programme and we are delighted that Titan Airways has selected us once again as their training partner. Not only is it refreshing to be able to offer a rare airline-funded cadet programme, Titan Airways has also been very forward-thinking in their approach to the training – embracing three multi-pilot aircraft training elements into one seamless and innovative airline cadet programme.”

Anthony Petteford, VA Airline Training

Sponsorship Information

This is a Titan Airways fully-funded multi-pilot training programme for which we expect there to be considerable enthusiasm. The sponsorship covers the costs of APS MCC, Advanced UPRT and Type Training leading to an offer of full employment and an exciting flying career with Titan Airways.

Initial applications are submitted online (no fee required) from which a shortlist of applications will progress onto Step 2 (Online Assessment) for which a small fee of £120 (inc VAT) will be levied by VA for the CUT-E tests and evaluation. From Step 2 results, a final group of applicants will then progress onto Step 3 for a final airline selection day with Titan Airways.

Pilots offered sponsorship by Titan Airways will be asked to lodge a Training Expenses Deposit of £12,000 including VAT during the Airline Qualification phase of training, which will then be transferred by VA to Titan Airways once qualification training is complete. Paid in two instalments, £4,800 thirty days prior to APS MCC training, and £7,200 prior to UPRT training, the Training Expenses Deposit will then be fully repaid to the pilot by Titan Airways over the first 18 months of employment in addition to their salary.

Upon full employment and prior to commencement of the Airline Career phase of training, pilots will also be required to sign a standard 4-year airline employment bond (conditions of which will be outlined by Titan Airways in their employment offer).

Training backed by VA’s Competency Assurance™

VA training programmes are aligned to ICAO Competency-Based Training standards and conclude with a skills test to demonstrate achievement of the required competencies. Competency Assurance™ offers even greater comfort to the airline sponsor that graduates really are ‘AirlineReady’.

Airline Qualification Phase

VA Competency Assurance™ has been designed to provide you with complete peace of mind and support (which also acts as part of the Titan Airways pre-employment phase). This enables you to focus completely upon your training and not worry about money.

  1. If additional training is required to enable you to achieve the required competencies during APS MCC training, it will be provided by VA at no additional cost.

  2. If the APS MCC skills test standard is beyond reach despite receiving additional training the VA Head of Training (in joint discussion with the Titan Head of Training) will not award a pass certificate and your sponsorship will cease. In these circumstances, we take a fair and ethical position and you will still receive an MCC course completion certificate and VA will only retain your initial training expenses deposit payment of £4,800 including VAT.

  3. The Advanced UPRT course is also covered by Competency Assurance™ should additional training be deemed necessary by Ultimate High Academy.

Airline Career Phase

  1. If additional training is required to enable you to achieve the required competencies during Type Rating training (up to an including all FTD training at Cambridge), additional training will be provided in the FTD by VA at no additional cost.

  2. Competency Assurance is not applicable to Type Rating Training during the final 4 Full Flight Training Sessions (FFS) and the Licensing Skills Test. You will not be permitted to attend Phase 2 FFS training unless competence on FTD sessions has been achieved.
